The Preferred Return: Issue 6

Your Preferred Return has arrived.

In this special edition of The Preferred Return, we’re highlighting the iGlobal Forum’s Independent Sponsors Summit that was held earlier this month in New York City. The event brought together over 300 Independent Sponsors, Capital Providers, and Service Professionals for two days of networking, interactive roundtables, and workshops focused on deal making, capital raising, and unlocking efficiency in the private markets.

Industry Insights

iGlobal Forum specializes in exclusive senior-level forums focused on today’s most significant business issues, with participation across institutional investors, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, investment banks, consultants, law firms, and market-leading service professionals.

The iGlobal Independent Sponsors Summit is the ultimate platform for independent sponsors and capital providers to connect, network, and explore new business opportunities. The program is packed with valuable insights and knowledge from expert-led panels, interactive roundtable think tanks, and workshops. Industry leaders will lead the expert-led panels, discussing the latest trends, insights, and best practices in the independent sponsors and capital providers community. Unlocking Efficiency

“Unlocking” was a popular term throughout the Summit, including how efficiency, value, and other untapped areas that are typically trapped in the deal management lifecycle can be freed by new strategies and innovation.

The session hosted by Ilion Capital Partners and Verivend was fittingly titled “Deal Flow Decoded: Unlocking Efficiency in Capital Raising and Deal Management” and was a value-packed discussion about strategic insights, process optimization, investor relationship building, and technology and tools that Independent Sponsors and Capital Providers can leverage to ultimately do more with less in today’s challenging market conditions.

Strategies for effective capital raising

“One of the things that is easily lost and a shame if it’s lost is ‘what is the LP experience like throughout the process?’.”

Optimizing deal management across asset classes

“It’s much easier if it’s [the data room] all in one place so you can update documents as things progress.”

Closing deals faster and without any surprises

“Independent sponsors are able to not only close deals faster but close deals without any last-minute surprises.”
